Message of Fr. Gregorio Banaga, Jr.,C.M.

Dear Fellow Alumni,

The Falcon Bridge—a very familiar-sounding word for alumni who studied in the University after 1989. This is the bridge that traverses the Estero de Balete and connects St. Theresa's campus with the Cardinal Santos's side. Those who went to Adamson—before St. Theresa's was acquired by the University—have not seen this bridge yet.

We chose this as the name of our very first newsletter—solely dedicated to Adamson alumni all over the globe. But this is not the physical image of the bridge that connects two of our campuses. It is the bond that connects the University with its alumni all over the world.
We are putting out this newsletter for a significant reason—we want to get in touch with you. We want to hear from you. How you are doing? What’s up with you? Where you are?

You may want to share with us something about yourself. We would love to hear stories about your life, achievements, family, career, or about your alumni association or group of alumni (if you belong to one), or about another Adamsonian that you met, or even memories of your Adamson days. Send us your photographs as well. I am sure some of your classmates and friends would be surprised to see your picture in The Falcon Bridge.

From our end, we will share with you about recent news and happenings about your Alma Mater, or alumni who visited us, or sent us some interesting news, or photos—even my visits to different alumni groups. Like recently I went to Dubai and met 180 Adamsonians. You can see their pictures in this web site. We will also disseminate what other alumni have sent us—of course, with your permission.

We envision this newsletter to be a bridge, a two-way street that can provide a link between the University and you. To make this vision happen, you would have to share and communicate with us. Can we call it a deal?

Thank you for taking time out to check out The Falcon Bridge. Welcome once again to Adamson!

Rev. Fr. Gregorio L. Bañaga, Jr., C.M.

75 Outstanding Adamsonians Form AUDFI
AdU’s mission to provide quality education to the economically challenged is not the sole responsibility of the University. The Adamson University Diamond Jubilee Foundation, Inc. (AUDJFI) shares the same commitment as they offer assistance to the University’s prime projects.

AUDJFI is a non-profit organization formed by the 75 Outstanding Adamsonians last February 2007. It will be recalled that during the 2007 Diamond Jubilee, the University named 75 Outstanding Adamsonians, all alumni who have made significant achievements in their respective careers. Last January 5, 2008, the organization held its launching and induction of officers at the Centennial Hall A of the Manila Hotel with alumni, school officials, government representatives, business tycoons, and media personalities in attendance. Former President Fidel V. Ramos graced the event as Guest of Honor and speaker.

According to Mr. Belmar Bayombong, Business Manager of AUDJFI, “The long-term objective is to achieve its mission by creating sustainable programs that will ensure or even exceed the expectations of the university and the alumni.”

Mr. Bayombong added that the group’s projects are: scholarship programs to deserving students including support for a professional and professorial chair; support to Adamson student athletes; speakers bureau (the organization is to sponsor 30 seminars for graduating students every semester); assistance, together with the OIA, in the creation of Adamson University Basketball and AdU Golf Tour and a sustainable source of funds.
