SVP ZARSWELA: AN ADAMSON ALUMNI REUNION WITH ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
The Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA), in coordination with the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO)strengthens ties with the Alumni and industry partners by heading the fundraising play entitled, SVP Zarswela: An Adamson Alumni Reunion with St. Vincent de Paul held last Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Adamson University Theater. The Phillipine Stagers Foundation under Atty. Vincent Tañada, maker of I AM NINOY and other critically acclaimed plays portrayed the life of St. Vincent de Paul, our patron saint with a twist. The event was filled with fun and excitement as a simple cocktail was served followed by a raffle draw after the play. The event would not be complete without the generosity of our sponsors. Proceeds of the event will go to the Scholarship and Faculty Development Programs of Adamson University. |
A GRAND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION FOR A CAUSE
Mrs. Lourdes Dacumos Supetran celebrated her 60th Birthday last September 12, 2009 at the Mandarin Oriental Grand Ballroom, Makati City. The proud husband, Mr. Alfonso Supetran, and their children hosted the event for the most important woman of their lives. The preparation resulted in a magnificent dinner celebration, where relatives and closest friends from ACS Manufacturing Corporation, Adamson University, Mapúa Institute of Technology and Green Meadows witnessed the grand event. The celebration was remarkable and touching for Adamson University as cash donations from well - wishers in lieu of gifts will be given to its Bridge Program. Mrs. Supetran of the renowned ACS Manufacturing Corporation, the maker of PRIDE laundry detergent powder, Unique Toothpaste, Starwax paste floor wax and others, an Outstanding Alumna of Adamson University and a former president of the Adamson University Alumni Association, Inc. (AUAAI) thanked her Alma Mater for giving her a year of academic scholarship during her college days. It is for this reason that she continuously supports her Alma Mater in its noble causes. Engr. Rosete Graces OIA-Alumni Forums with EE Graduating Students
Engr. Julius Ceasar V. Rosete, a 1983 BS Electrical Engineering alumnus, visited Adamson University last July 6, 2009 for a courtesy call on University President Fr. Gregg L. Bañaga C.M. and gave a talk to EE graduating students. Engr. Rosete currently works as Director of the Core Services Development-Projects and Technical Support of Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), UAE's largest telecoms company. In his talk, Engr. Rosete focused on how to make it big in the challenging professional world. He mentioned the industry's demands for globalization, noting that an Adamsonian should not only make it good in the Philippines but be confident when sent to another part of the world as well. He emphasized the value of having a clear vision- knowing what one wants in order to be led where one wants to be. Lastly, he expressed his trust and confidence in the younger generation of Adamsonians becoming successful in the future, believing in the educational system of the school where he proudly comes from. The engineer is an active officer of the Alumni Association's UAE Chapter where he heads the Ways and Means Committee. He was also one of the recipients of chapter's Most Outstanding Alumnus Award, which was given to him during the association's second homecoming event last summer. The session was made possible by the Office for Institutional Advancement under Dr. Lizelle E. Villanueva in collaboration with the Electrical Engineering Department under Chairperson Engr. AdU Administrator Crowned Mrs. Philippine-International 2009
Director of the Office for Institutional Advancement (OIA) Dr. Lizelle Eugenio-Villanueva was crowned Mrs. Philippines-International last December 17, 2008 at the Aliw Theater during the Mrs. Philippines 2009 pageant. The pageant gathered 28 of the most accomplished Filipina married women of the country ‘to celebrate beauty, elegance, and family values.’ The competition was for the benefit of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines and Coalition of Services of the Elderly (COSE). Dr. Villanueva also won the Ulirang Ina/Adelina Cortez-Mendez Award aside from bagging one of the major titles. She is set to compete abroad for the Mrs. International crown. Zmen Productions, headed by Dr. Joel C. Mendez, produced the event. It was the fist time that the Mrs. Philippines was formally held as a nationwide pageant. In the previous years, the title holders who competed abroad were handpicked. It was in the year 1986 that the Philippines sent a representative to the Mrs. World Pageant. Other winners of the recently held pageant were Camilla Kim Galvez - Mrs Philippines Universe 2009; Maria Rafaela Yunon Belasco - Mrs Philippines Globe 2009; Ivy Glenda Malaluan - Mrs Philippines Earth 2009; Donabel Deinla - Mrs Philippines World 2009; Mary Maureen Albarracin - Mrs Philippines Tourism 2009; Rebekah Cantillero - Mrs Philippines Asia 2009; and Analou Avecilla - Mrs Philippines Galaxy 2009.
